Ice, Ice, Baby

In the run up to Christmas, Ice-Skating is one of London’s most popular activities! You’ll find them popping up right along the Thames plus near all major shopping centres and tourist attractions – It won’t take you long to find one if you’re out and about!  Check out some of the magical rinks near our Headquarters at Butler’s Wharf;

Eyeskate at The Coca-Cola London Eye

You’ll find this festival of frosty fun along the South Bank, in front of the big wheel itself. Watch the pods gently float past you as you glide around the largest ever Eyeskate. Enjoy the special wintery cocktails or try the champagne experience – or both, it is the Christmas season after all! You could even combine your skate on the rink with an experience on the Eye to see the rest of London and the Thames from 135m above the city.

Tower of London Ice Rink

Probably the closest to us here, the Tower of London Ice Rink. Located in the dry moat, this rink offers a grand historical setting for some festival cheer! The rink is operated by open air ice rink experts Cousins Entertainment, headed up by Olympic Gold Medallist, and Dancing on Ice judge Robin Cousins MBE.

As well as the ice-rink, you’ll be able to tuck into yummy food and warming drinks from the rink-side Ice Bar and Café, provided by Pie Man.

With a skate path, The Tasting Room and towering surroundings, it’s a very civilized session at Canary Wharf Ice Rink, London’s largest outdoor ice rink. The business district’s soaring towers backdrop and some other exciting extras help to keep this event a fancy-affair perfect for a romantic date, a family day out or fun with friends.

An iced-path allows skaters to dash off and glide below twinkling Christmassy trees away from the crowds on the main ice rink and the pop-up bar and restaurant serving winter warmers keep you refreshed after all that festive fun has been had!

Skate at Somerset House

A glorious backdrop and the grand 18th-century courtyard at Somerset House makes this venue one of London’s most festive ice rinks.  There are lots of extras too to keep your excitement going! Enjoy champagne, afternoon tea or even private dining at The Fortnum’s Lodge,  hot chocolate in the Skate Lounge or plan your visit on one of the club nights which will feature DJs from Ministry of Sound and Island Records; A completely different kind of Christmassy night!

Celebrate in style this festive season in London and enjoy memorable winter experiences on and off the ice along the Thames. Who knows, if the temperatures continue to drop the way they are, we’ll be skating on the Thames itself!
