I am floating down the Tidal bit of the Thames, on a Lorry Innner tube on my 40th birthday in a weeks time for Charity from Richmond I am allowed to go as far as the Houese of Parliment I have a safety boat and done my research.

I have know people to swom it at low tide but although it is possible it is increibly dangerous now as there are so many boat services.

Even on a Sunday I am likley to stop at Vauxhall as some of the boats simply go to fast to stop.

In addition the currents are very unpredictable and even at Richmond you can go with the tide but not against it.

www.cookhamregatta.org.uk

The Rotary clubs of Cookham Bridge and Marlow Thames organise an annual fun regatta on the river Thames in aid of local and internationlal charities. It involves races with dragooboats, canoe catamarans, and dongolas (a canoed punt). There is planty of fun on the landside as well.

I would agree with the author. We have organised a number of very successful River Cruises down the Thames this year already for varying sizes of groups.
Ned Railway requested Team Tactics for an evening event as a thank you for a team internally as part of a project. Guests would come mainly from the UK but also from Europe. Team Tactics suggested an evening’s cruise in Central London with a choice of entertainment which included casino tables, belly dancing (!) giant scalectrix, cocktail making. The clients numbers kept on increasing so it was decided to keep entertainment to a minimum and just enjoy the boat cruise.
Another recent corporate event was Kenwood’s annual worldwide conference for 180 guests. As part of the proposal we suggested a river cruise which again was a huge success, complemented by the Singing Waiters. The day included hiring the Odeon Leicester Square for the conference, transport via old Routemaster Buses, viewing London’s skyline on the London Eye and finishing on board a boat for dinner. We have some cracking photos of some guys flaked out in the boat after a very long day!

Hi Chris

Very nce informative web site. I was wondering if you knew of any companies hiring out an affordable Power Boat with own Skipper proving a tailored individual service - such as a 2 hour trip and a picnic along the Thames or a romantic champagne cruise for 2.

I would like to book a river cruise on the Thames for New Year Eve 2009. Hopefully including a view of the fireworks.

Do any of the cruise vessels allow children of 13 on board at this time of year.

Many thanks
